69th Annual Congress of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dear colleagues,

We are very pleased and honoured to welcome you to the 69th Annual Congress of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology（JSOG）in Hiroshima.

We had designed this scientific meeting for clinical obstetricians and gynecologists in order to review some of the achievements made in the fields of women’s health care to date, including maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and general gynecology, as well as examining scientific and clinical efforts under development. Furthermore it is a good opportunity for those who want to be updated in these fields. I also hope that especially for young colleagues, this meeting is a quite good chance to meet together, exchange the knowledge about science, and have a face to face discussion in order for having a mutual understanding.

The number of abstracts in the International Session has increased as a result of academic globalization̶a policy of the JSOG. The International Conference will feature presentations on international collaborations of JSOG and the societies of obstetrics and gynecology from Asian countries. In addition, in a session immediately before the International Workshop for Junior Fellows, a talk advising junior clinicians on the pursuit of academic careers will be given based on lecturer’s own experience.

Hiroshima is a modern, cosmopolitan and beautiful city. It is facing the scenic inland sea with its spectacular array of islands and surrounded by green mountains. I encourage you to leave the meeting and enjoy our beautiful city for at least a part of every day. I look forward to speaking with many of you over the duration of the meeting and hope that you find the JSOG Hiroshima meeting to be a worthwhile experience.
